Nikon 1 V3, a Speed Freak!

Do you know of any mirrorless "compact" WITH interchangeable lens that can shoot at 20 frames-per-second (fps) AND with full autofocus?

No?

Until now!  Presenting the new Nikon 1 V3...

When Nikon launch their V1 a couple of years ago, I had the pleasure of trying it out for nearly a week, and I was impressed.

I was actually thinking of buying the V1 which did very well with it's 1" sensor, but then I was into M43, and I told myself to wait for the V2...

The V2 turn out to be a really ugly camera ad as expected did not do well at all!

Now Nikon has gone a full circle and go back to the classic, simple point n shoot style and lay-out!

To make the not so tiny compact more "pro", you are able to add an electronic view finder and a grip.  But did you check the price of these two item?!!

And to make the camera even more "pro-might-just-use", you can even get a Nikkor VR 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 which gives an effective maximum focal length of 810mm (when the 2.7x crop factor is taken into account)!

With all that advance features, would I buy one?

Nay ;)

Why?

Photo from Camera Size
It is NOT a compact, it is much bigger than my GM1 and the sensor is smaller!

It is very expensive!

At USD 1,200 or NZD 1,400 , the smaller GM1 is cheaper and come with a wider kit lens!  (Nikon 1 of 27mm eqv and 24mm for the Lumix!)

So it can shoot at a blazing 20 frames per second, so what?

20 fps is fairly pointless considering that it takes ages to go through the hundreds of shots for the best image out of this huge bunch!

I think I am sticking with my Lumix GM1 for a while!   :)
