I ♥ Paris (3)...

The next day we went to the Louvre, according to Wikipedia:

"The Musée du Louvre (French pronunciation: [myze dy luvʁ]), or officially the Grand Louvre — in English, the Louvre Museum or Great Louvre, or simply the Louvre — is one of the world's largest museums, the most visited museum in the world, and a historic monument. It is a central landmark of Paris, France and is located on the Right Bank of the Seine in the 1st arrondissement (district). Nearly 35,000 objects from prehistory to the 19th century are exhibited over an area of 60,600 square metres (652,300 square feet)."

The Louvre Palace and the Pyramid which was completed in 1989.

There are some 6,000 work of paintings on display in the Louvre! The tag beside each painting are in French only, the only way you can find out who painted this, when; is by hiring this gizmo. just input the number beside the painting and its info will be fed to your headphone in language you specified.

There are so many painting that you tend to get arty overload! There are painting on the wall and even on the ceiling!

I particularly like work by Leonardo da Vinci, this is his famous "The Virgin and Child with St Anne".

Another famous work that everybody know is "Mona Lisa"!

You did not expect the famous smiling face to be that small, did you? :)

At the other extreme is this massive painting "The Wedding of Cana" by the late-Renaissance or Mannerist Italian painter, Paolo Veronese.

We spent half a day at the Louvre because there are still so many more attractions that we have not been! Adios Mona ;)
